From News Center (Text by Yan Yanyi and Lan Jiangzhi, School of Continuing Education; Photo by Guo Xinyuan, Publicity Department of the CPC LZPU Committee) On May 29, 2025, the Liuzhou Polytechnic University Branch of Guangxi Veterans College, a new educational platform that embodies care and hope, was officially inaugurated at LZPU. The unveiling ceremony was jointly organized by the School of Continuing Education and the Liuzhou Veterans Affairs Bureau. Key attendees included Xu Wenwei, Member of the Leading Party Members Group and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Veterans Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Lu Liuping, Vice Mayor of Liuzhou Municipal People's Government; Gan Jinming, President of LZPU; and Qu Fan, Vice President of LZPU. Also present were Li Junhui, Director of the Armed Forces Department and Logistics Support Department of Guangxi LiuGong Group Co., Ltd., leaders from the Department of Veterans Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Liuzhou Veterans Affairs Bureau, as well as 20 student representatives who are retired soldiers currently studying at LZPU. The ceremony was presided over by Ding Xu, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Director-General of the Liuzhou Veterans Affairs Bureau.

Xu Wenwei congratulated the establishment of the branch and presented three key proposals in his speech. First, he underscored the importance of focusing on teaching by integrating resources to innovate educational models and offering practical courses to enhance employment and entrepreneurship skills. Second, he encouraged continuous learning, urging retired soldiers to seize opportunities, adopt the right mindset, uphold professional values, improve their skills, and contribute to the development of Liuzhou. Third, he called for empowerment and collaboration, urging departments at all levels to coordinate support, strengthen policy, funding, and talent support, and work together to promote the branch's development. The branch will leverage vocational education resources to create a demonstration service platform.

In her speech, Lu Liuping stated that the establishment of the branch represents a groundbreaking advancement in the city's efforts related to veterans affairs and a key step toward promoting the high-quality development of veterans affairs. She highlighted that the branch will tackle the "challenges" and "pain points" associated with veterans' employment and entrepreneurship by integrating various resources, including policies, funding, and programs. It will provide a comprehensive range of services for veterans, from career planning and employment recommendations to entrepreneurial guidance and ongoing support.

Gan Jinming introduced the background of the branch's establishment, emphasizing that it represents LZPU's practical implementation of the CPC Central Committee's important directives regarding veterans affairs and an active response to the deployment requirements of the CPC Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The branch will leverage LZPU's vocational education resources to develop demand-driven practical courses, innovate a model of "government-university-enterprise cooperation and industry-education-research integration", and utilize digital and intelligent platforms, training qualifications, and support mechanisms to provide long-term services and lifelong learning opportunities for veterans. The ultimate objective is to create a demonstration model in this field.

During the unveiling ceremony, the Veterans Training Center of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region signed a joint education agreement with LZPU, while the Liuzhou Veterans Affairs Bureau and Guangxi LiuGong Group Co., Ltd. concluded a "government-university-enterprise" cooperation agreement focused on veterans' vocational skills training with LZPU. Following the ceremony, leaders and guests toured LZPU's School of Liuzhou Luosifen Industry, Industrial Robot Training Center, Flexible Manufacturing Engineering Center, and Smart Manufacturing Empowerment Center.

The establishment of the Liuzhou Polytechnic University Branch of Guangxi Veterans College marks a significant milestone in advancing the service and support system for veterans toward higher quality. In the future, the branch will draw from LZPU's rich resources in technical and vocational education and training to align closely with the needs of Guangxi's industrial development, tailoring career pathways specifically for veterans.
